I am currently finding myself in the middle of a torrid love affair with black windows…of course the bigger, the better.
I think they’re so incredible dramatic.
I want some…in the kitchen.
Every interior door in my house is already black so question…should I paint out the kitchen windows so that they look like these pretties…
When giving me the yes or no to getting out the old paint brush, please keep in mind that cabinets will be white, island will be grey, hardware is going to be gold and accents will be mostly blush.Oh and my windows aren’t the fancy paned/double hung/rounded ones like above…they’re more like these…

So what say you?
Oh and PS, don’t forget to enter my Ravel Giveaway because I know you want one of these pretties to call your own.
I’ll be drawing for the winner on Saturday.

Posted at 06:37h, 14 JulyIt’s a pretty striking look. Worst case scenario - you don’t like it and you repaint them white? I say give it a go!

Posted at 06:40h, 14 JulyI have double hung 12 over 12 windows. They’re painted black on the main floor, and to save money I left them white up stairs. I have to admit - the downstairs windows look so amazing that my heart sinks when I get upstairs, look outside, and I am peeking through a grid of white.
The black acts as a frame - if you have a nice view, the nature outside looks like framed art on the wall.
Good luck with your decision!

Posted at 06:53h, 14 JulyI saw yes! Do it! It will look great and just like Jordana said, if you don’t love it - they can always be repainted. Why not give it a go if you love the black windows so much, right? 🙂 xx

Posted at 06:53h, 14 JulyLove the black and how it “frames” the view. Not every room can take such striking feature but your new kitchen definitely can! My vote is to go black!
Can’t wait to see it!

Posted at 07:13h, 14 JulyI love the look - it’s dramatic and classic. I like the look in a bathroom too! Can’t wait to see your kitchen!
Things That Sparkle
Posted at 07:55h, 14 JulyI am the worst… but I am going to say no. I think its going to be too much. I tend to like the black windows in spaces where they can be more of a focal point, and in your new kitchen there is going to be way too much gorgeous for them to be the focal point. BUT if you do decide to do it, I totally trust your judgement and know it will look completely fab

Posted at 08:01h, 14 JulyI love how they make a room pop and your new kitchen will be the perfect place to try…it’s a yes from me!!
Nette @ This Dusty House
Posted at 08:08h, 14 JulyThese are gorgeous, but not for my house. I think in order to pull this off, you need the space. You need the high ceilings, the wide open rooms. And, you need to keep the rest of the room light. I love the look in all those shots, but in my dinky bungalow? I think they’d just end up looking heavy and dark.
Janell @ Isabella and Max
Posted at 08:16h, 14 JulyI would! My vote is yes. I’ve adored black window casings/panes for a long time now, very chic and dramatic. Will be a must have in the dream house. 🙂 Janell

The Now
Posted at 09:37h, 14 JulyI’ve never even THOUGHT about black windows (this is A.. maybe E has!), but these are STUNNING! So much impact… I especially love the horizontal rectangle windows in the kitchen shot. Thanks for opening my eyes, Christine! xoxo

Posted at 09:43h, 14 JulyIn my professional option as a window treatment specialist my opinion is to … leave them as they currently are if you plan on having drapery or any other type of window treatment. If you are going to leave them bare then absolutely go black baby!

Posted at 09:55h, 14 JulyLove the look. We just changed out all our doors from white to dark brown stain (almost black). I’ve been meaning to post about it. Love how they turned out.

Posted at 12:59h, 14 JulyI say go for it! Gorgeous round up of images! I think it’s so chic and adds an extra touch of glamour to the space. 🙂 Can’t wait to see what you choose.
An Urban Cottage
Posted at 13:33h, 14 JulyFunny how everyone wants you to try it. THEY won’t have to repaint them if it doesn’t work out. I’d rather dig my eyeballs out than have to paint any more mullions than required.
I’ve always loved this look but I’ve wondered if it would look right if done only in one room. If you need to do the whole house, that’s deal breaker.
I’ve condsidered it for my kitchen when I get around to doing it (a la Windsor Smith) but it’s scary for sure.
But, yes, you should definitely do it!

Posted at 14:14h, 14 JulyLove them! We have floor to ceiling black windows and I adore them! They let in a lot of light and make our small condo seem much bigger!

Posted at 14:30h, 14 JulyI don’t really think that is a question at all…because I would think you were crazy if you *didn’t* get out that paintbrush! hehehe…okay not really, but the black windows are awfully fabulous and they really do add an edge and some drama to a space!
elizabeth@themustardceiling
Posted at 14:31h, 14 JulyDo it! I think it will look amazing, especially with white cabinets and gray island. If you don’t like it paint them white, but I think you will LOVE them.

Posted at 14:59h, 14 Julyyes! it is gorrrgeous! i think it’ll look fab with your color scheme too!
Rambling Renovators
Posted at 15:10h, 14 JulyI would say no, unless you’re going to also paint other window frames that are visible from the kitchen (such as the ones in your living room). I love the look but there should be some purpose, some reason.
pretty pink tulips
Posted at 15:32h, 14 JulyI can see why you’re swooning! They are so much more interesting in a space than simple white ones. Love the graphic punch!!!
I’m crushing now, too!
